About Afriski

Skiing on the Roof of Southern Africa

Afriski sits high in the Maloti Mountains of northern Lesotho, with its top station at around 3,222 metres. It is one of only two ski resorts in Southern Africa, and in a normal winter it combines natural snowfall with snow-making to keep the slopes open.

The resort has beginner slopes, a ski and snowboard school and equipment hire, so first-timers are well looked after. Snow tubing is a hit with families.

Outside the ski season the mountain becomes a base for hiking, trail running and mountain biking. The drive from Maseru climbs through Butha-Buthe and over Moteng Pass, past Oxbow and the headwaters of the Malibamats'o River.
