A green, river-cut valley in the northern Maloti, home to rare indigenous forest, mountain bamboo and one of Africa's most beautiful mountain lodges.
Ts'ehlanyane protects a beautiful valley where the Ts'ehlanyane and Holomo rivers meet beneath the Maloti peaks. It takes its name from the mountain bamboo that grows along the streams, and it shelters one of the few remaining stands of indigenous old-wood (ouhout) forest in Lesotho.
Walking trails range from gentle riverside strolls to a demanding multi-day route over the mountains towards Bokong Nature Reserve. Rock pools, waterfalls and birdlife make it a favourite with walkers and photographers.
Inside the park, Maliba Mountain Lodge offers some of the finest accommodation in Lesotho, with chalets overlooking the river and a terrace perfect for lunch.
